Best hospitality training software 2026: 8 platforms compared

The best hospitality training software in 2026, honestly compared: verified pricing, free plans, and which platform fits a single café, a multi-site group, or a chain.

9 August 202612 min read

Searching for hospitality training software returns two kinds of pages: vendor sites that say “book a demo” where the price should be, and listicles that have clearly never used any of the products. This post tries to be neither. Every factual claim below was checked against the vendors' own websites on 9 August 2026, and where a vendor publishes no pricing, it says so — no rumoured numbers.

Full disclosure up front: TrainedTeam is our product. It is in the list, first, and we have been as blunt about its limits as everyone else's. The other seven are genuinely good tools for the teams they fit — the point of this comparison is working out which team is yours.

How to choose: three questions before any demo

What shape is your team? A single café with eight staff has nothing in common, software-wise, with a 40-site group or a 3,000-employee chain. Several platforms below state their own floor — Trainual says it suits 25–1,000 employees; Docebo recommends itself for 250+ learners. Believe them.

Is your training content yours, or bought in?Ready-made course libraries (Typsy, TalentLMS's add-on library) teach general skills well — wine service, management basics, compliance awareness. But your kitchen's closing procedure, your allergen matrix, and your housekeeping standard have to be written from your operation. Platforms are shaped around one model or the other.

What does your inspector need to see? If the answer involves EHO visits, food safety records, or franchise audits, you need training tied to evidence — knowledge checks, e-signatures, expiry dates — not just completion ticks. That requirement eliminates more platforms than any feature list.

1. TrainedTeam — SOP-first training with audit evidence (ours)

TrainedTeam is hospitality training software built around your own procedures: document them (or let AI draft them from a walkthrough video), train and test the team on them, and keep e-signed, timestamped evidence of every completion. The template library includes hospitality documents inspectors actually ask about — kitchen cleaning schedules, food temperature logs, and opening and closing procedures — free to read in full.

Pricing: free for up to 5 users with no time limit; paid plans are flat-rate by team size from £24/month (US: $33/month) billed annually — prices are public. Honest limits: no SCORM/xAPI course import and no off-the-shelf video course library — if you want ready-made courses rather than your own SOPs, look at Typsy or TalentLMS below. Best for: independents and small groups that need training, SOPs, and audit-ready proof in one place, starting free.

2. Opus — frontline training at franchise scale

Opus is a training-operations platform for deskless teams in multi-location businesses, and its hospitality credentials are real — Bonchon, Smashburger, and Shipley Do-Nuts appear among its customers. Its standout design choice: workers sign in with no email and no password, which matters enormously for hourly QSR staff, and it auto-translates content into 130+ languages.

Pricing: not published — three tiers behind a demo, and billing is typically structured per location rather than per user. Honest limits: the per-location model and demo-led sales point squarely at multi-location groups; a single site is not who it is built for. Best for: US restaurant groups and franchises with many locations and high hourly turnover.

3. Flow Learning by MAPAL — hospitality-native LMS for UK groups

Flow started life as Flow Hospitality Training in 2009 and is now part of the Mapal OS suite. It is hospitality-native in a way general LMSs are not: a compliance and skills content library built for hotels and restaurants, onboarding and development paths, and serious multi-site heritage — its customer list includes KFC, Hilton, Costa, and Dishoom.

Pricing: not published — the pricing page exists but contains no numbers, only a demo request. Honest limits: it is one module of a broader workforce suite and is positioned for groups; a five-person café is not the target. Best for: UK and European multi-site hospitality groups that want a hospitality-specific compliance library at scale.

4. Typsy — the hospitality video course library

Typsy is hospitality-only learning content: 2,000+ short video lessons across beverage, culinary, service, management, and compliance, taught by industry practitioners, used in 180+ countries. It has also grown beyond pure content — SmartCards convert your own SOPs and PDFs into frontline-friendly training, and ReviewLearn turns guest reviews into targeted lessons.

Pricing: public — Individual £180/year, Team £120 per member/year billed annually (up to 100 members), Enterprise custom. Honest limits: per-member pricing adds up (a 5-person team is £600/year against free alternatives), and there is no free tier. The library is the product — if your need is your own procedures with audit evidence, it is a complement rather than the system of record. Best for:hotels and F&B teams that want polished, ready-made video training on hospitality skills.

5. TalentLMS — the budget-friendly general LMS

TalentLMS is not hospitality-specific, but it earns its place: it publishes real prices, has a genuinely free tier (5 users, 10 courses), and its TalentLibrary add-on offers 1,000+ ready-made courses on general workplace skills. We compare it with our own product honestly in TrainedTeam vs TalentLMS.

Pricing: public — free tier, then from $119/month (about $95/month billed annually), with the course library as a paid add-on. Honest limits:it is course-shaped, not SOP-shaped — nothing about it is built for shift work, EHO evidence, or your kitchen's procedures, and pricing jumps in bands as headcount grows. Best for: budget-conscious teams delivering formal e-learning who want published pricing and a real free plan.

6. Trainual — the office playbook, stretched to hospitality

Trainual is a strong process-documentation platform — playbooks, training paths, tests, org charts — and some hospitality groups use it for head-office and management training. Its own pricing page states its best fit: companies of 25–1,000 employees.

Pricing: not published — demo-quoted, with no free plan. Honest limits: by its own declared fit, a small hospitality team is outside the target; and frontline features hospitality needs — QR-at-the-station procedures, food safety logs — are not what it is built for. See TrainedTeam vs Trainual and Trainual vs TalentLMS for the detailed comparisons. Best for: 25+ employee operations documenting head-office processes as much as floor procedures.

7. eloomi — learning plus performance, HR-led

eloomi combines an LMS with performance management — 1:1s, goals, 360 feedback, skills tracking — and can be bought standalone or as part of Dayforce's HCM platform. Hospitality is one of six industries it lists, alongside 40+ integrations and Teams and mobile apps.

Pricing: not published — quote only. Honest limits: it is an HR-led platform rather than a hospitality operations tool; hospitality is a market it serves, not a speciality. Best for: mid-size, HR-led organisations — especially existing or prospective Dayforce customers — that want learning and performance reviews in one suite.

8. Docebo — the enterprise option, priced like one

Docebo is a genuinely capable enterprise learning platform — white-labelling, branded mobile apps, advanced analytics, multi-business-unit structures. Its own pricing page is refreshingly direct about who it is for: at least 250+ learners, with most customers choosing a 3–5 year contract.

Pricing: not published — quote only, active-user metered. Honest limits:none of that is a criticism — it is simply sized for chains, not cafés. If you are under 250 learners, Docebo's own guidance points you elsewhere. Best for:enterprise hospitality chains running formal L&D programmes across brands.

The short version

Single site or small group that needs its own SOPs trained and evidenced: TrainedTeam (free to start). US multi-location franchise with hourly staff: Opus. UK multi-site group wanting a hospitality compliance library: Flow Learning. Ready-made video skills content: Typsy. Formal e-learning on a budget: TalentLMS. Office-led process documentation at 25+ staff: Trainual. HR suite with performance management: eloomi. 250+ learner chain: Docebo.

Features and prices change — verify anything load-bearing with the vendor before you commit. And whichever platform you pick, start the way inspections end: with the records. If the system cannot show who was trained, on which version, with understanding checked, it is a content player, not a compliance tool.
